Domes: Acrylic, Impact Modified Acrylic, and Monolithic Polycarbonate

Standard Acrylic is popular due to good clarity and the economical price.

Impact Modified Acrylic and Monolithic polycarbonate glazing material are a lightweight, impact resistant and economical alternative to glass. Polycarbonate has an impact strength 10 times greater than standard acrylic and is only slightly more expensive.

Acrylic, Impact Modified Acrylic and polycarbonate domes are available in single and double dome configurations.

Thermal performance is fair.

Multi-wall Polycarbonate

Multiwall polycarbonate sheet will be the glazing of the future.  Multiwall polycarbonate sheet offers remarkable impact resistance, high levels of light transmission and excellent long-term weather durability. Opal and bronze tints and Venetian pattern are available for use where levels of light transmission and/or solar heat gain need to be restricted.

Most designs use 25mm triple wall with UV protective coatings. A condensation control coating is also available for high humidity applications (greenhouse, pool enclosures,etc.).
